I don't know how to feel about this. I'm sure it is a legitimate acting style, but I feel like I'm being criticized.
Ingenue Whether or not you are, your overall vibe is youthful and somewhat innocent. Modern ingenue roles are more of a nod to the stock character; most modern ingenues can (or figure out a way to) take care of themselves. Examples would be the role of Charlotte in 'Sex and the City,' Chris Klein in anything, Zooey Deschanel, etc. A classic example would be Audrey Hepburn.
