I’ve formally signed on to a new production today, despite my own reluctance to accept the role initially. It’s a bit different from my usual, but I suppose it isn’t all bad to challenge myself a little.

I suppose but I still have quite a few yearsto go before I can say I actually know something, just going down the basics at the moment.

They're still finishing up the casting choices, but the cast list is shaping up to be an... unconventional one, I suppose, so far. The director certainly has interesting ideas about who should play what roles. ✨

Everyone has to start somewhere, and somewhere should usually include the basics. It does make me curious, what is it about psychology that made you decide to study it?

Sometimes the best show is the one with that kind of thinking and sometimes... it's unfortunately doesn't go as planned.


Probably from my own experiences as an athlete, I've always found it interesting to see how people ways of thinking influenced how the ended up playing. That's just one reason but I'd like to specialize in sports psychology when I'm done with my general studies.

The quiz you linked to took an awfully long time to complete. I did manage to make it through. I got ingenue. "Whether or not you are, your overall vibe is youthful and somewhat innocent. Modern ingenue roles are more of a nod to the stock character; most modern ingenues can (or figure out a way to) take care of themselves." I don't know if I necessarily agree with this assessment, but I am not much of an actor. Nor do I plan on becoming one. I noticed that you did not take the quiz yourself. Just because you are already an actor doesn't mean you don't have to share your category. I am slightly interested in your outcome. That said, I don't know much about you as an actor or a person. You don't look overly familiar to me at all.

It's a fair enough assessment. I do prefer my roles to be the type that makes for a bit of drama, which would be why many of my roles are in productions that attract a largely female audience. I'm guessing romantic dramas aren't really your style, though.

I don't know whether this is good or not seeing as I don't know you very well, but if you say it's a fair assessment, then I'll take your word for it. I don't really watch romantic things, though my sisters do and sometimes tell me about them. My little brother watches toku and I know that attracts female audiences because those shows tend to cast relatively attractive people. Of course, attractiveness is subjective and while a lot of people might find the lead cute or hot or what-have-you, another group might feel the opposite. Congratulations on your new role, I think. I hope you fall in the first category and not the second otherwise that might dim your chances for continued acting.

I find this to be wholly fitting. Does this describe you as well or are you more of an everyman type?

I'll admit the challenge of the role doesn't interest me as much as the impact I feel the character has. There's typecasts I've done enough that I can set out the basics for my character with little trouble, only to have the small twists in the direction that set the character apart without it needing to be entirely new.

Your results speak well for your versatility, Yuushi-kun. You don't mind if I call you that, do you? It gets confusing with both yourself and your cousin about. Either way, perhaps you should give acting a shot. ✨

It's more about the intrinsic understanding of people for me. Being able to take what I know and put it into a performance can be thrilling.

Well, I took the most current iteration, which doesn't even much resemble the original role. The director is already talking about more script rewrites and changes though, so who knows where we'll be by the time we start actually filming.

Whether or not you are, your overall vibe is youthful and somewhat innocent. Modern ingenue roles are more of a nod to the stock character; most modern ingenues can (or figure out a way to) take care of themselves. Examples would be the role of Charlotte in 'Sex and the City,' Chris Klein in anything, Zooey Deschanel, etc. A classic example would be Audrey Hepburn.

It's a popular trope with a lot of roles available for it, as long as you look at the more current drama adaption instead of the more classical theatre production stereotype. I can see how it might seem a little of an unflattering stereotype though.
