Should anyone actually celebrate Christmas, I hope you had an interesting time. Or, considering the season, a romantic time would be a better wish?

Just when I thought I was going to spend New Years indoors with Cat like a boring person I was asked to replace a colleague as the guest host on Flash*Bang. I’ve never hosted any kind of program, and most of my improv experience comes from live shows, but it’s an interesting opportunity.

For those unfamiliar with the show, it’s a new years special of an ongoing variety show covering trends and celebrity news and the like. The special I’m on will be a flashback show looking through the year’s highlights, featuring a few guest interviews and me and my co-host getting increasingly drunk as we near the countdown. Which is probably going to come back to haunt me, but the show must go on et cetera ✨

My mother in all her infinite wisdom and grace has decided I am, apparently, lonely living by myself, and has decided to personally try and fix this pressing issue.

That is to say, I came home from work to find a white, particularly hairy little cat sitting on my couch like it owned it and every piece of furniture around it. There is hair on everything, even though it has been here for three hours at most. It threw up on the carpet.

My mother didn’t see fit to actually supply me with any necessities other than the cat itself and a note wishing me well with my new ‘friend’. Having never even so much as considered the option of getting a cat, I’m somewhat at a loss. Please advise.

I’ve formally signed on to a new production today, despite my own reluctance to accept the role initially. It’s a bit different from my usual, but I suppose it isn’t all bad to challenge myself a little.
